After doing pretty much nothing rewarding for quite sometime (a few weeks :/) I am back.
Coninsidently my new Uni brief is ‘Curiosities’ so after much umming and ahhing i am finally making some good decisions in my work.
Firstly i studies bones, photos, drawings, prints etc ….got sidetracked by that wonderful old book given to my great grandma….
Studied that for a while drawing, photocopying, embroidering and now i am looking at the desesertising of children in modern society.
I dont want to preach, kind of just want to make kind of weird, morbid work using childhood as the premis.
www.whokilledbambi.co.uk is a great source for this projects work
Here are some crap photobooth photos of what ive been up to.
Peace.

“Today the museum spans 34 rooms and contains not only zoological subjects, such as a stuffed hippopotamus (a 17th-century Medici pet, which once lived in the Boboli Gardens), but also a collection of anatomical waxes, an art developed in Florence in the 17th century for the purpose of teaching medicine. This collection is very famous worldwide for the incredible accuracy and realism of the details, copied from real corpses. Also in La Specola on display are scientific and medical instruments. Parts of the museum are decorated with frescoes and pietra dura representing some of the principal Italian scientific achievements from the Renaissance to the late 18th century.”
Im always putting this off till ‘Tomorrow’ but today is that day, ive started drawing for my new brief Curiosities focusing on Taxidermy and Victoriana craziness.
I just stumbled across this poor little kitten who has been taxidermied to have 8 little legs!! the exact premise for researching the Victorians, they were mental!!
